i'm behind the times in hip-hop. loving dizzee, hbms, tzu, hilltops, bias b, lyrical commission, muphin, the herd, et al. there's not that much non-aussie hip-hop I listen to, aside form dizzee and hbms, it's basically just xzibit and some of the quannum/solesides stuff (mainly lateef).

Love gritty, darker NY sounds, but i'm not fussed... as long as the beats are rad and the flows are tight.

I've been listening to stuff like Vanilla Ice and Limp Bizkit.

They're about as hiphop as hiphop can get.

Also, cocopops makes a great icecream topping.

if u want some awesome aussie hip hop, Check true live out.
They have their single TV coming out soon. But if you want to hear the true awesomeness of their music go and see them live.
I also dig TZU, The Herd and I heard still thinking on triple J a while back thought they sounded cool

Aussie hip hop rules! The new HH album is dope. The last BlissNEso was nice, too. Anything from Plutonic Lab is quality. To tell you the truth, other than Kanye, I haven't really been feeling too much US hip hop as of late and I wouldn't even classify Kanye as hip hop. Always love the Lyrics Born stuff, but still waiting for the man to drops something new unless I missed something. It doesn't help that I'm stuck in a 1988-1994 time warp...

If its gonna be the surprise innovative type, check some Swedish Styles!!

Groups like Up Hygh and Producer Freddie Kruger out on the jugglin label are busting some phat fresh beats and the label is also responsible (is not) for G.A.M.M records!!

Relistening to the '90s glory a bit, so lots of Native Tongues. The Herd's latest LP has been getting a lot of play too.

Trill! All about getting hyphy at the moment. ;)

Boys got me on the Southern tip,

BunB
Julz Santana
Lil' Wayne

I think you will find that DJ Shadow has some of this sound on his new album too, SF has apparently been on this sound for a while.
Been going to the Fravela Rock Parties at Loop last couple of months.
THey are getting bigger and bigger here.

SF has to be prolly the best town in US for brilliant, innovative music.

Dillinger Escape Plan
Gold Chains
Mike Patton

I'm constantly hearing so much good stuff outta SF.

Mike can do no wrong, dude is a fucking genius. A bit disappointed with the lyrics on Peeping Tom, but it's still a dope album.

Aside from that, I'm mainly into the ninjatune/big dada stuff like Ty, Gamma, New Flesh, Vadim and Herbaliser. I keep coming back to it.

And on the poetry tip: Saul Williams.
